Summary |
In systems where robots are operated using remote video in environments with imperfect communication, degraded video quality due to packet loss or bandwidth limitation will degrade operability and work quality. In this study, we propose the use of a video transmission method that suppresses the degradation of video quality and the accompanying degradation of work quality. Specifically, we propose a video transmission method that automatically reduces the image quality and frame rate when the video transmission quality degrades while performing parity-based loss correction to maintain video quality even in a communication environment where packet loss occurs and bandwidth is limited. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, we measured the reception probability of frames with and without the proposed method. The results showed that the video quality remained constant even in environments where packet loss occurred and communication bandwidth was limited. Subjective evaluation experiments were also conducted using an actual industrial robot. |
