Summary |
This paper discusses the uplink performance of an indoor data collection system. A base station (BS) collects in- formation sent asynchronously from multiple transmitters using the optical code division multiple access (CDMA) technique. The communication performance may degrade because of the near- far problem caused by variations in the propagation path length between each transmitter and the BS receiver. We apply spatial diversity to mitigate the interference and improve the error rate performance. In our proposed method, the correlation values are normalized at each photodetector, and the largest value is selected for symbol estimation. The obtained results show that a performance improvement can be achieved using the proposed method for a small number of users. |
