| Summary |
A delay-tolerant aerial network using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as an emergency communication system during a large-scale disaster such as an earthquake is proposed. In this system, UAVs move autonomously following a predetermined flight method and deliver messages hop by hop between UAVs in a delay-tolerant manner, disseminating them among first responders and affected people. We propose a UAV flight method based on Voronoi tessellation. We consider the predicted positions of UAVs with weighted values to utilize the weighted Voronoi cell. In addition, we consider a Voronoi cell with a density function for non-uniform user distribution. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve better message delay characteristics compared to other methods. |
