In sensor networks, both the amount of the collected data and elapsed time from their generation, i.e., AoI (age of the information), are essential. Thus, for system evaluation, we have proposed the valueput, which considers both the quantity of data and their AoI. This manuscript discusses the velueput of a wireless sensor network system that collects periodic data such as regular operation reports from machines in a factory and sporadic data such as warnings from equipment in trouble. In evaluation, we expand the definition of valueput to reflect the importance of periodic and sporadic data. Then we propose a transmission control method based on the priority of the data and show the valueput improvement by the proposed method. |
