| Summary |
Light Emitting Diode (LED) has been used as the next-generation light source due to low power consumption and long life time. Visible Lights Communication (VLC) enables LED lights to transmit information to other devices. In this manuscript, we discuss a VLC system with an LED-backlighted signboard used in public spaces. We aim to realize high speed transmission in order to expand utilization applications. In terms of high-speed VLC with the LED signboard, the limited bandwidth by electrical/optical conversion and the ambient light noise are problems. After optical/electrical conversion at a receiver, the ambient light noise is dealt with narrowband noise. Considering this characteristic, we introduce the method of noise elimination in frequency domain. Moreover, in order to reduce the influence of limited bandwidth, we apply the channel equalization in frequency domain after noise elimination. The proposed scheme is evaluated by experiment.
As a result, the proposed scheme can improve the bit error rate. |
