| Summary |
In a mesh network using IEEE 802.11n Wireless LAN (WLAN), it is desirable to select and use an optimum rate for each link. Semi-Fixed Rate Control (SFRC) is a technique that can select an optimum rate during autorate period, and use the optimum rate during fixed-rate period. IEEE 802.11n standard uses a MIMO (Multiple-input Multiple-output) technology that uses multiple antennas to coherently resolve more information than possible using a single antenna. However, it has an issue how to evaluate link quality and find the best timing to change fixed-rate period to autorate period. In this paper, we evaluate link quality based on Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) of each antenna for SFRC in IEEE 802.11n wireless mesh networks. |
