| Summary |
In low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, applying multi-input multi-output (MIMO) technology to feeder links increases link capacity, but channel capacity fluctuates and becomes unstable due to satellite movement. To address this issue, this study proposes a rerouting control scheme utilizing multiple satellites. When the channel capacity of a satellite decreases, traffic is rerouted through inter-satellite links to another satellite, and the feeder link of the rerouted satellite is used. Assuming the use of a central management station, rerouting routes are determined through mathematical optimization based on the feeder link capacities of satellites and the traffic demand. Penalties are imposed according to traffic loss, and optimization is performed to minimize rerouting delay within the range where loss is minimized. By predicting transmission capacity fluctuations within the notification intervals and determining rerouting routes accordingly, the rerouting control scheme achieves both mitigation of traffic loss and suppression of rerouting delay. |
