| Summary |
Multiple-input-multiple-output optical wireless communication (MIMO-OWC) systems can be considered as a potential candidate to ensure better capacity for indoor industrial applications. To achieve higher data rate communication at longer distances, we propose an imaging MIMO-OWC system that features an improved optical linear transmitting array and a new imaging receiver using a telephoto lens placed in front of the receiving photo-detector array. The performance of our imaging MIMO system is evaluated in terms of the bit-error rate (BER). The results show that error-free transmission can be achieved at a high data rate of 200 Mbps over 65 m distance even without performing any equalization at the receiver. |
