| Summary |
Smart agriculture is receiving considerable attention as an application
that utilizes wireless sensor network (WSN). WSN enables efficient
agricultural support by monitoring the growth conditions of crops. A
type of biological crop information, leaf temperature, is important for
estimating transpiration and photosynthesis activities. For efficient
collection of the leaf temperature data over the entire farm, we
simultaneously use a drone in the air and WSN sensor nodes on the ground
that are both equipped with infrared thermometers. In this study, we
propose a communication protocol for WSN. The preliminary results of a
prototype experiment show that the measurements are sufficiently
synchronized for collecting useful leaf temperature data. |
