| Summary |
In order to progress the advanced driver assistance systems, each vehicle need to share the Dynamic Map (DM). Construction of the DM requires to transmit the DM data within 10ms. It is an important issue to prevent increasing the transmission delay when each vehicle tries to send their DM data to the internet server via base stations in heavy traffic. In this study, we try to reduce the transmission delay in such case by using Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). MEC is a network architecture concept that decentralizes the data processing capacity by locating servers at the edge of the cellular network. The vehicle traffic of an actual environment in heavy traffic is simulated, and the outcome is applied to a network simulator. Then, we evaluate the transmission delay of the DM data, and clarify the transmission delay reduction by using MEC. We also discuss an achievability of the target of the delay. |
