In this paper, wireless control using the IEEE 802.15.4 beacon-enabled mode is considered. In the beacon-enabled mode, a superframe is structured in the time axis. Each superframe consists of a contention access period (CAP) and a contention free period (CFP). In the CAP, carrier sense multiple access/collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) is used. On the other hand, time division multiple access (TDMA) is used in the CFP. To enable wireless control over the IEEE 802.15.4 beacon-enabled mode, we propose a scheme that assigns the plants to the CAP, the CFP, or nothing on the basis of control error. We show that the proposed scheme improves the control quality. |
