| Summary |
This study considers an indoor data collection system using optical space communication technology in an indoor environment. Transmitters are distributed uniformly on the floor and a base station is located at the center of the celling. In the system, the transmitters asynchronously send their data to the base station using optical Code-Division Multiple Access(CDMA) strategy with overlapping pulse posision modulation modulation and Prime codes. Because of the different locations of the transmitters, the intensity of the optical signals may not be the same at the base station. If a received signal from a transmitter is weaker than other signals, the signal faces large multiple interference access: this phenomenon is known as the near-far problem. In order to mitigate the near-far problem, we introduce a hard limiter (HL) after the photo detector (PD) of the base-band receiver. The computer simulation of symbol error rateis performed considering the noise mainly cause by the PD. The nu
merical results show the performance improvement by the introduction of the HL. |
